Business Development Manager – Full Time

Location: Alton, Hampshire with travel
Salary package: Competitive base with generous bonus scheme
This is a permanent, full-time role with a mix of office-based work and travel.

The Challenge

We are looking for a proactive, motivated, and experienced Business Development Manager to develop a new business division for us, with ownership of the FPM range. FPM is a high-quality Serbian manufacturer of machinery for tractors, producing a range of products from haymaking to soil cultivation to mowing. FPM has been designing and creating high-quality tractor attachments for over 60 years and has suppliers in over 40 countries worldwide. Farm Tech Supplies is the UK’s exclusive supplier of the FPM range. We are looking to bring in someone to build out the FPM division for us, to promote the brand name and build its reputation and presence in the market.
We have very strong existing relationships with dealers, so there are some easy conversations to be had, but we are also looking for someone to develop these relationships, identify new business opportunities, and increase revenue streams.

Responsibilities

Business Development;

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to expand the customer base and revenue streams.
  • Explore new areas of focus for the business to drive growth and increase market share.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.

Relationship Management;

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing agricultural dealers, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for increasing orders.
  • Develop and execute strategies to engage with prospective dealers and onboard them to our network.
  • Regularly visit dealers across the UK to strengthen relationships and understand their challenges and opportunities.

Sales;

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
  • Manage and grow the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent and sustainable growth.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted sales campaigns.
  • In person sales at industry specific events and trade shows.

Reporting and Analysis;

  • Track and analyse sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve goals.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights.

What we are looking for:

  • A blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and sales acumen.
  • Proven experience in a B2B sales or business development role, preferably within the agricultural or related industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an upbeat and friendly approach.
  • A self-motivated individual with a drive to be part of a growing, successful, and profitable team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK to meet with dealers and attend industry events.
  • An interest in agriculture and farming is essential.
